Terms of Service

These terms govern your purchase and use of courses from A1Prime.com LLC ("A1 Prime," "we," "us"), an Anchorage-based provider of online continuing education for Alaska's electrical industry. By purchasing or taking a course, you agree to them.

What we provide

Our current course is Course #20627 — 2023 National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), Second Edition, approved by the State of Alaska for 8 hours of continuing education. The course and exam are delivered through ClassMarker, our testing partner.

What we don't provide

Completing our course does not renew your license. Alaska electrical administrators self-certify their continuing education on the State's renewal form and submit it themselves with the applicable fee. Your certificate is your proof of completion. Whether your renewal is accepted is your responsibility.

We don't determine which code your category requires. Under 12 AAC 32.315, outside-communications and unlimited-linework administrators need the NESC; other categories need the NEC. Our FAQ and Renewal Guide explain this, and we'll talk it through before you buy — but confirming an NESC course fits your category is your responsibility.

Accuracy

We keep our content current with Alaska regulation and cite the regulations we rely on. Requirements change. Where anything here conflicts with what the State tells you, the State is correct.

Payment

Courses are sold at the listed price, currently $359. Payment is processed by PayPal; we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, and PayPal balances, and you don't need a PayPal account to pay by card. Access is granted on successful payment.

Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms.

Your access and the course content

Your purchase grants one person access. It isn't transferable and may not be shared. Don't share your access link or credentials, and don't take the exam on someone else's behalf.

Our coursework includes code text licensed to us by the IEEE and McGraw-Hill. You may use it for your own study. You may not copy, redistribute, republish, resell, or use it to build a competing course, during or after your access.

Your certificate is yours to keep. Alaska randomly audits renewals, and licensees must retain proof of continuing education for at least four years under 12 AAC 02.960.

The exam

A passing grade of 70 percent is required. The exam is self-paced and open-book by design — the relevant code text is provided with each question. Sharing questions or answers, or having someone else complete the exam for you, voids your certificate without refund.

Availability

The course is delivered through third-party services. We aim for continuous availability but don't guarantee it. If a technical problem prevents you from completing the course, contact us — see the Refund Policy.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent Alaska law allows, our total liability arising from your purchase or use of a course is limited to the amount you paid for it. We aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost work, lost wages, lost contracts, or penalties arising from a lapsed or rejected license. Nothing here limits liability that can't lawfully be limited.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alaska. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Anchorage, Alaska.

Changes

We may update these terms; the date at the top will change when we do. The terms in effect at the time of your purchase govern that purchase.
